Now that your website is finished and submitted to the
search engines you will experience what everybody else goes
through. We call this the Sandbox Effect. According to Wikipedia.org
the definition reads: The Sandbox Effect is the theory that
websites with newly-registered domains (or with pages yet
to receive a Page Rank calculation) are placed in a sandbox
(holding area) in the indexes of Google until such time is
deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence. Only Google
uses a ranking system. The other search engines do not have
a ranking system or they use Google’s ranking system.
In either case this Sandbox effect can last up to a year!
So what do you do in the mean time? This is where Paid submissions
come into play.
WMS uses multiple paid submission techniques to drive traffic
to your website:
- PPC ~ Pay per click
- CPM ~ Cost per thousand (M stands for the greek symbol
1000)
- Directory listings (some directories require money)
- Banner ads
